Application of Alternating Current
The most common type of current used in various appliances is AC. A few instances of alternating current are radio signals, audio signals, and so forth. Since alternating current (AC) can transmit power over long distances without experiencing significant energy loss, it has many advantages over direct current (DC).
Because it is much easier to generate and transport AC over long distances, it is primarily used in homes and offices. Transformers, meanwhile, make it simple to convert AC to and from high voltages. Electric motors, which further transform electrical energy into mechanical energy, can also be powered by AC. As a result, AC is also used in a lot of large appliances, including dishwashers and refrigerators, among many other appliances.
